Club Summer!

One of my biggest fears is as I get older that my summers will no longer be filled with fun, that the season summer will become just another season and another day in my life.  I always want to maintain that with summer means fun and excitement!  Even though I just recently graduated from college, I got together with a couple of my closest friends and we created a list of things we would like to accomplish or complete this summer together to guarantee a fun summer for all of us.  We are all girls who love to have fun and who like to keep life interesting and we never have a dull moment when we are around one another.

We have completed a few items off of our list so far and try to knock one off each week.

Here's our list:

  1. Fix our matching tattoo
  2. Bridgejump
  3. Minature Golf
  4. Get a new piercing
  5. Graffiti
  6. Rock climbing
  7. Create a Youtube video
  8. Go camping
  9. Throw a themed party/boat party
  10. Take a roadtrip
  11. Go to a stripclub
  12. Go to downtown Chicago
  13. Get a street sign
  14. Do a scavenger hunt
  15. Go to a concert
  16. Get our photos taken professionally
  17. Go to the Pottery Place
  18. Go boating
  19. See Harry Potter at midnight and wear costumes
  20. Create an "End of Summer" scrapbook
  21. Go to a waterpark
  22. Make "Club Summer" Shirts
  23. Drink all day
We just live our lives to the fullest and that's all you can do.  That's how I always want to live my life is by taking full advantage of it. :)

Re-Vamping Furniture!

When I moved into my new apartment my roomies and I decided that we wanted to have an awesome theme for our apartment and chose to do pink and zebra.  We wanted to make sure it was a definite theme and anyone could tell if they walked into the room.  I got some furniture from my grandparents and decided to revamp them to make them go with our theme.

These are the endtables, there were two of them!  I spray painted each table black, they were a simple wooden color at first, then took pink and black zebra ribbon around the edges of each then took white buttons and super glued them at each corner.  Everyone loves them!

Here is the lamp, I spray painted the base black and then took black and white zebra ribbon around the lamp shade frame.

Isn't the room just adorable?!

I've decided now that I would love to revamp furniture as a side hobby.  It is very fun and relaxing for me, I totatlly love it!  I love when a room has a distinct theme.  Makes me want to look into interior decorating.  Well I hope you like them!

Mascara Mites

This past Saturday I attended a Mary Kay party and I learned about mascara mites.  I had no clue that these bugs even existed!

An example of what mites look like on your eyelashes.

People who wear eye make-up  and do not wash their make-up at night are more prone to getting mascara mites and they are so small that you can not see them.  The mites are usually harmless but if you get a manifestation then it can cause irritation and swelling around the eyes along with your eye lashes falling out.

To avoid eyelash mites you have to take proper care of your eyes.  Each night you need to remove your eye make-up with make-up remover that is specially formulated for the eyes.

Also it is recommended that you only keep your mascara for three months, after that throw it out.  Each time you use your mascara, air gets into the tube which creates a perfect ground for growing bacteria.  Once your mascara becomes very clumpy or starts to have an odor THROW IT OUT!

Maybelline Falsies Volume Mascara Review

I love trying out new products that come out into the market.  So when I saw the commercial for Falsies mascara it was a must have!

Once I got the mascara I was so excited to try it out right away! Once I took the brush out of the tube I noticed how it the brush was very curved and the bristles were thicker and longer.

I applied the mascara onto my eyelashes and coated them twice.  I felt like it did a great coverage for a mascara but it did not give the full luscious lashes that fake eyelashes give me.  I felt like I could use any mascara and be okay with it. I did not see that much of a drastic change that I thought I was potentially going to get with the new Maybelline Falsies mascara.

Overall, it is a great mascara.  I usually use a different mascara on first my first coat to get the smaller lashes in the corners and to give it a coat, then I will use the Falsies mascara for a second coat on my top lashes to give them more of a "pop!"

Fall 2010 Fashion Trends!

As you probably can tell from my profile I love fashion and the new trends that are always coming out.  I also adore make-up and hair styles and learning new techniques that are being introduced.  I decided to my make first blog about a couple of new fall fashion trends that are making headway this season.

First off is military inspired clothing.  It's a MUST have!!  An easy way to get started is to start off with a military inspired jacket, you can dress it up or you can dress it down.  It is very versatile and can really make an outfit POP!

Here is a fabulous example of a great military jacket worn by Beyonce!

Secondly Jean on Jean action is coming back!  But if you are going to attempt this trend you must know how to style your outfit so you don't look like a fashion failure.  The key is to mix up the fabric weights and washes.  If you are going to wear a pair of dark skinny jeans match it with a light ripped jean jacket.

Lastly is VELVET!  Velvet can make an outfit look classy.  There really are no rules with velvet except how bold do you want to go?  I personally LOVE velvet heels!  I feel like they really make the outfit!
